The Aspirant for Ebonyi South Senatorial position under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC has recently notified the State Governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru of his ambition after the appointment of the occupant, Senator David Umahi as the Works Minister by President Bola Tinubu.
Anyigor, who is the South East Director of Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation, AGF Project Beyond 2023 in his open letter which was made available to newsmen on Thursday commended Governor Nwifuru for his courage and selfless leadership style towards advancing Ebonyi State and its citizens more.
He beseeched God to continue to imbue Governor Nwifuru with wisdom, understanding, grace, strength and enablement to perform more excellently in his assignment and also prayed that his tenure would herald an era of greater peace, internal harmony, tranquillity and progress in their party, APC and the nation as a whole.
"Your Excellency, I have found it necessary to explore this medium in expressing my solemn and age-long aspiration to represent the good people of Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly in the light of the vacancy of that seat in the hallowed red chamber of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, arising from the appointment and subsequent assumption of office by our esteemed leader, His Excellency, Engr. David Umahi as the Honourable Minister of Works in the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
"Invariably, by democratic tenets and the relevant provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the 2022 Electoral Act, the Bye-Election to reoccupy that seat will most likely be held before the end of this year based on the guidelines and regulations of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).
"On this note, I earnestly crave your fatherly understanding, support and leadership influence to enable me to occupy the vantage position that I might be able to offer profound leadership and credible representation to my people, the good people of Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the 10thSenate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in line with the policy direction and manifesto of our great party as well as the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
"Your Excellency, my robust wealth of experience as a seasoned professional and consummate grassroots politician of the progressive folk and my cutting-edge private sector background have prepared me over the years and have equipped me with leadership qualities and profound exposure to represent Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the Senate of the 10th National Assembly and turn things around for good, to the delight of all and sundry.
"More importantly, I hailed from Onicha Local Government of Ebonyi State which is the most populous Local Government among the five Council Areas in the Senatorial District with the highest number of registered and loyal voters. Despite this political advantage, nobody from Onicha Local Government had been allowed to represent Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This, among other crucial reasons, had formed the basis of my aspiration to occupy the seat.
"Without mincing a word, my wide popularity and acceptability among the critical political stakeholders in Ebonyi South Senatorial District and my copious familiarity with the local terrain in terms of the leadership challenges and expectations had given me a vantage edge over every other contestant for this seat. Furthermore, my deep understanding of the inherent political dynamics within Ebonyi State and our dear nation at large reinforced my conviction that 1 stands a very bright chance and will most likely record huge success if given the party ticket to contest for the seat in the forthcoming Bye-election.
"Your Excellency, I, once again, earnestly crave your indulgence in the light of the above to look deeply into the matter, even as I enjoin you not to hesitate in considering the merits of my aspiration in the overriding interests of our party and I pledge to discharge my duties to the best of my utmost ability, knowledge and strength it collected as prayed.
