The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has advised outgoing Corps members not to underplay their Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED program during their one-year compulsory service to the nation.
The NYSC State Coordinator in Ebonyi, Mrs Nasamu Olanka Diana gave this advice during the passing out ceremony of the 2022 Batch 'C' Stream 'One' Corps members at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki.
Mrs Nasamu commended the Corps members for their worthwhile records during their service year in the state and further urged them to utilise the skills which they acquired both in the orientation camp and their places of primary assignment.
"You have been taught so many things at the orientation camp, and I'm sure that some of you did post-camp training.
"The jobs are not there, they are very elusive, but you can still create wealth, you can still make money while waiting for the white collar job that you so desire.
"You have done cosmetology, beautification, so many things that you have learned, please don't forget about them, put them to good use," Nasamu said.
She also urged the exit Corps members not to embark on night trips just in their bid to meet up with their families after receiving their discharged certificates.
"Please do not travel at night, it is very dangerous, if you know that it's getting too dark, please look for somewhere to stay and continue the next day," she added.
The NYSC State Coordinator ushered prayers of success on the outgoing Corps members particularly the completion of their service year to earn them a breakthrough for a greater fortune.
Recall that out of a total of 614 outgoing Corps members comprising 263 males and 351 females in the state, 14 of them are facing punishment for abscondment while 37 bagged extension of service for not keeping the rules and regulations of the scheme.
