Not less than six (6) local government Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have resigned from their party in Ebonyi State.
The PDP chieftains resigned a few days after the Supreme Court affirmed the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the last concluded Presidential election.
The names of the resigned PDP Chairmen which were forwarded to the Ebonyi State Government social media platform for updates included Barr Agbom Friday ( Ezza south), Nwofe Philip (Izzi) and Nwobasi Ude Chizoba (Ohaozara),
Others were Chukwu Micheal (lvo), Ifere Sunday Bright ( lkwo), and 6.Ndukwe Orji Okam (Afikpo south).
It was also gathered that the PDP LGA Chairmen tendered their resignation letters, noting that the rationale behind their resignations remains personal.
Also, a former Member representing the Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo federal constituency, Hon. Livinus Makwe while addressing his supporters and PDP members in his Amuzu Amagu country home, unveiled his decision to leave the PDP, noting that he is yet to pitch a tent with any political party as he is widely consulting to know the party that bears the vision of bettering the lots of the masses.
Immediately after his resignation, all the structures of the PDP in IVO LGA and top stakeholders of the party announced their resignation from the PDP stating that Hon. Makwe was a leader who deserved all loyalty.
The PDP Youth leader of Ivo LGA, Hon. Ukah Samuel Aroh (Ogide) in his statement, declared the total support of Ivo LGA youths in the decision of Hon. Makwe.
Mrs. Patricia Anyim and over 500 PDP women expressed their happiness and confidence in the leadership of Hon. Makwe and further declared their support and announced their readiness to leave the PDP and join any party that Hon. Makwe may wish to pitch his tent with.
In the same vein, Hon. Chukwu Cornelius (Oriokata) who contested the Chairmanship election under PDP in the last local government election alongside 11 councillorship contestants announced their resignation from PDP in support of Hon. Makwe's decision.
Also, the forum of PDP former Councillors through their spokesperson Hon. Justice Uka announced their resignation from PDP and declared their readiness to join Hon. Makwe in any party of his choice.
In their separate speeches, Hon. Chrismok Okereke, Hon. Aro Simeom, Hon. Fabian Uka, Hon. Rev. Ezeoke, Hon. Laz Uwaju and numerous other founding fathers of PDP in IVO LGA declared their support for Hon. Makwe and announced their readiness to join any political party of his choice.
Relatively, the Deputy governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the last general election Hon. Prince Ajah Nwabueze announced his resignation from LP and promised to announce his next political movement in no distant time.
