The National President of the United Association of Physically Challenged Persons of Nigeria, Comrade Egede Silas Elom has commended President Bola Tinubu for Appointing Muhammed Abba Isa as Senior Special Assistant to Mr President.
Egede Stated this During the 2023 Disabled Day celebration at Shehu Musa Yaradu in Abuja the nation's capital.
He said "The Association was registered at CAC on 25 June 2008 and it was able to secure disabled summit and inaugurated on 11th August 2008, the summit was the first of its kind as it pulled physically challenged persons from the 36 States including FCT under the sponsorship of Distinguished senator Anthony Agbo"
"It was hosted by former FCT minister Moddibo Uma and it was inaugurated by the former first lady her Excellency Hajia Turai Yaraduwa. Since then the affairs of physically challenged persons were brought to light. This year's celebration: the theme is titled Limited in Action to Rescue and Achieve the Side for with, and by persons with disabilities. Yes, we need to celebrate because God has opened our files in heaven. If God did not remember you like, if you like to connect the macro phone to the ears of the leaders they will not hear"
"The President his Excellency Ahmed Bolla Tinubu has given us SSA in the name of Muhammed Abba Isa, Mr. President also approved 20M to the disabled association that is registered POS to 154 persons with 100,000.00 each and scholarship to be paid 130,000 till he graduates. Gov Eno Releases N100M scholarship grant to persons with disability, Gov. Oyebanji offers sign Language training for Civil Servants and political appointees, Mr Bashiru Dawodu the chairman of the house committee on disability matters projecting our welfare to the general public, her Excellency the wife of the the the the Executive Governor Ebony State Chief Mrs Mary Mouldaline Ukamaka Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for the first of it kind visited the office of people with disability at preso in Ebony State on thank you visit. She said they prayed for his husband when he was contesting for election so she came to greet them. She shares with them several materials including cash". Egede added.
He thanked Chrospher Zaka Maikalangu, the Chairman of (AMAC Abuja Municipal Area Council for appointing SSA and also appointed SA to the disabled name Joseph we thanked the former governor of Kano State His Excellency Rabiu Kwankwasu Musa giving a car and big house to one our member Hassan and Abeullahi for only joining him in campaigning which he did not even win we thank Malam Ibrahim Shekurau Sardauna Kano he appointed Alhaji Bala Muhammed our National secretary under shura community finally we thank ARC Edward Nkwegu OFR he is housing us here in Abuja he is our land and our patron thank for you good services to humanity.
ECONOMY
"I call on the CBN Governor to initiate a programme that will touch the citizens as he came in not by introducing a harsh policy that will throw the masses into into. Any new appointee should strive to create an avenue that will attract blessing from the masses. You can remember a lot of life was wasted during the cashless policy, I also call on the petroleum industry to do something to alleviate the hardship people passing through in the country due to the removal of fuel subsidies. Finally, those who are given palliative should not see it as an opportunity to divert to private pocket as this will attract the rot of God on those who embarked on such acts"
POLITICS
"Under politics, I called on those who have chosen violence as an alternative means to grab power should note that it is he who is alive that will contest for power. Using former president, Buhari as an example, he contested severally and lost he waited patiently until God decided. If he had chosen violence maybe he would not have been alive to be the president"
"I congratulate my Governor his Excellency the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for his victory in the appeal court in Lagos on 24 of last month"
"Am using this forum to call on the people of Ebony South Sanatoria zone they should call their son back and let him approach the incumbent governor to pay him all he had spent. If not with this way Dr Chukwuma Oddi is going, there will be nothing like power rotation through equity. if there had been equity no EbonyiSouthh Man or Central would have contested but now we said equity and andSouthh andCentrall are dragging the young man, distracting him not to concentrating on his God Given opportunity, I called on IZZI NNODO to be vigilant and I also called on Umu Ekuma Enyi to be watchful". "Finally leadership we the people with disability should strive to be in unity to be able to speak in one voice, not mending the association you belong to, not minding the type of disability, not subjecting yourself to tribe issues, (disability people are one family). Still, on leade,r we are pleading with all governors, and speakers who have not stepped down from the disability commission in their various states to do so. So that the work will be easier for you as a Governor. We also appeal to all Governors who have not appointed SSA on disability matters to do so, So that whenever the SSA President call the meeting of SSA to the Governor, your state will be represented and this will enable your state to benefit when others are benefit. We bring greetings to all our members across the federation and beyond and we pray that the 2024 International Day celebration will be better than this year". He said.
