The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has urged Corps members in Ebonyi to remain unbiased umpires while carrying out their national assignment, especially during the Senatorial rerun in the southern zone of the state.
The NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke who stated this in Abakaliki, underlined that the Corps members should be apolitical as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC scheduled the rerun for the Ebonyi South Senatorial zone on February 3rd, this year.
According to her, every Corps member who will be participating in the election should remain apolitical throughout the exercise.
She warned them not to show any sympathy or support for any political party during the forthcoming by-election.
The NYSC State Coordinator maintained that the Corps members should be unbiased umpires as they participated in this all-important assignment.
She advised the Corps members to make integrity their watchword by not allowing anyone to lure them with food, drinks and other things.
She said that arrangements had been made for their security, and urged them to make security a priority by dressing properly and having their identification cards, snacks and phones intact.
NATIONAL PANEL also gathered that a 3-day training has been scheduled to commence this Friday for the Corps members who are expected to participate actively to enable them to perform well at the polling units.
