Ebonyi Police Command and National Youth Service Corps, NYSC have jointly called for peaceful conduct in the forthcoming bye-election in Ebonyi South Senatorial District.

The duo also raised the concern II the security of the electoral officials and the general public yesterday when the Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi, Augustina Ogbodo received NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke who was in her office, Abakaliki for a courtesy visit.
Speaking, CP Ogbodo cautioned the corps members participating in the Senatorial bye-election come February 3rd to be careful not to lean on the politicians, but on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for any challenge or concerns.
The CP commended the NYSC for the cordial relationship that has existed between the Police and NYSC, noting that, the Police and NYSC should work together to ensure the security of the corps members in the state.
She assured the NYSC State Coordinator of every support her office needed from the police.
Ogbodo thanked the Coordinator for the sensitization of the Corps members on the role expected of them ahead of the by-election, adding that they should not allow themselves to be used by the politicians.
Earlier, NYSC State Coordinator, told her that she was in her office for familiarization and to discuss the security of corps members, informing
her that she has just enlightened the corps members on what they need to know and do during the Election.
Mrs Oladeinde appealed to the command to always ensure that corps members receive adequate security during and after the election.
She appreciated her for the robust relationship between the two organizations in the state, soliciting continued collaboration and friendship.
The highlight of the visit was the snapping of a group photograph and the presentation of the NYSC publication to the CP.
