The Ebony State Executives of the All Progressives Congress, APC yesterday warned that they would no longer tolerate any distraction against the party leadership from suspected enemies of the party in the state.
This was contained in a communique issued by the APC state executives during their meeting at the party Secretariat, Akanu Ibiam International Conference Centre, Abakaliki.
The APC officials described as false, the allegations leveled against the State Party Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, by a faceless individual whose sole aim was allegedly to cause acrimony and disunity in the party.
The communique read: "The State Executives of All Progressives Congress (APC) has observed with dismay the fallacious, unscrupulous and fabricated news making the rounds on the internet indicting the State Chairman of our Party, APC, accusing him of not carrying the State Executives along in decision making, misappropriation of funds, anti-party activities, abuse of office, and embezzlement of funds, and therefore, wish to refute the allegation and state categorically that it is a false information from the pit of hell and that the State Executives has no hand in the purported rumour.
"Whilst we are not trying to join issues with some insane politicians in the State, especially the political hooligan(s) who postulated this purported and fake news, aimed at tarnishing the image of our dear Party Chairman and that of the Party in the State, we wish to state as follows:
"That the general public should disregard and ignore the news in toto, for this is the handiwork of the enemies of our Party, who are working seriously to instigate crises in our Party and to bring disunity amongst the members.
"That the State Executives of our Party have been working in harmony with the State Chairman, which has culminated to the peaceful co-existence of our members and the success the Party has recorded in the State so far.
"That no money given to the Party, be it dues or donations has been embezzled or misappropriated in any way by the State Chairman, as he is obviously not a sole signatory to the Party's account. Also, the Party has a designated bank account where Party Members were directed to pay for their wrappers before collecting them.
"That the State Chairman of the Party, Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha is still the Chairman of the Party that produced the sitting Governor of the State, three Senators, three House of Rep. Members, 19 Ebonyi State House of Assembly Members, Chairman of the 13 LGAS of the State and 171 Ward Councilors of the State. The Chairman in his tireless efforts, has also reconciled almost all the major Stakeholders of opposition Parties, including three EBHA Members of opposition Parties, into our Party, thereby strengthening our Party the more in the State. Therefore, if the strategy he used in achieving all these feats has been termed anti-party activities, then, the State Executives hereby appreciate this his style of anti-party, since it is favouring the Party.
"That the State Party Chairman has not in any way erred in his administration, hence, the State Executives are happy with him and appreciate his tremendous achievements, which has turned Ebonyi State into one-party-system State.
"That we appreciate the Leader of our Party in the State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, for his unwavering support to the Party and monumental achievements in the State.
"That we will continue to support the programmes and policies of our dear Governor, to ensure that the "People's Charter of Needs" of his administration are completely achieved.
"That we therefore, implore our Party members and indeed the general public to note that the State Executives of All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State Chapter is intact and has nothing against Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha's led administration".
