There is one thing that Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru should do to defeat fear or favor in his regime.
Governor Nwifuru is a relevant average youth in the present era of the new generation government within Nigeria.
When we started the political campaign on strict instruction of the regime of David Nweze Umahi, I was told clearly that the incoming regime should be mainly youth oriented.
I was told to drive in the youth sense and impression towards the successful election of the youths, into the ship of affairs that will govern Ebonyi State.
I loved some of the speeches that were delivered at that time by Governor Umahi, as regards the youths entering the new Ebonyi State regime.
I wrote extensively on the new idea of youth saturation of the major seats in the incoming system of the government.
Immediately the election was over, what happened gladdened my heart because the youths were appointed to the various responsible positions in the new regime.
However as time went on I started observing that some old hands, right from the era of Sam. Egwu began to surface in some of the key positions of the new regime.
I am not quarreling over the reappearing of the old hands because politics is by sharing responsibilities if necessary.
But where and when it begins to appear repeatedly, just as if those old hands have no children, or relations and, or near of kin to be there instead of them in particular I would begin to shudder over it.
I won't mention names but any reasonable, or familiar person to it should know those who are even still being appointed into the new era of regime.
Such people have occupied very many positions in the past, but it seems they are not shy of repeating themselves over and over again and again.
Does it mean that without political appointments some people won't exist, or cannot eat three square meals a day?
What else are they doing for a living? It seems they are forcing government to create chances that aren't available for them or not necessary.
They should remember that the youths can as well occupy such positions if available at all, but not when government must struggle to create the spaces for them to occupy.
I am not talking about the federal government sectors where some old experiences could be required for good.
Such experienced elders may be considered good there, but still not elders that are already walking, shaking and moving like crawling on their knees.
They should be respected for what they have achieved prior to this time, placed in a place of good rest and be recognized as the first class citizens of very high repute.
Such old hands are supposed to be in the positions to make pin button contacts for the development businesses of government if so needed.
It is not a joke to become surviving elders in horrible societies, like we have it today in this part of the universe.
A spade should be called a spade. Elders should be called elders. Everything has got its own time. The truth should be told. Enough should be enough. That is the basis for limitations to be observed.
My candid advice to the present government of Ebonyi State is to remark the elders, mark the youths and share the responsibilities of governance mostly in favor of the youths.
Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru should be supported by everyone, to boldly defeat mental fear or favor of any group of big personalities.
