President Bola Tinubu has extended warm birthday wishes to Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, lauding his decades of public service as the former Transport Minister and two-time governor of Rivers State.
Amaechi, who turned 60 on May 27, has been a towering figure in Nigeria’s political landscape, also chairing the Nigeria Governors’ Forum during his tenure as governor.
In a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu described Amaechi’s political career as marked by “dedicated service to Rivers State and invaluable contributions to national development.”
The President prayed for God’s grace and more fruitful years for Amaechi, wishing him success in his ongoing political journey.
Amaechi served as Minister of Transportation in former President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet from 2015 to 2023, overseeing key infrastructure projects that reshaped Nigeria’s transport sector.
His milestone 60th birthday was marked by tributes from political allies and well-wishers across the country.
