The Special Assistant to Ebonyi State Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Comrade Sunday Nwambam, KSJI, has advised the newly married couple to hold firm the spirit of understanding, tolerance, honesty and above all, demonstrate a high sense of faith in their marital journey.
He gave the advice during the solemnization mass between Emmanuel Uchenna Onyibe, a native of Enyigwe village in Ndiebor Ezza-Inyimegu Community in Izzi LGA and former Miss Mary-Cynthia Chioma Udeke from Amaeka in Unwueka community, Ikwo LGA of Ebonyi State at the Saint Theresa Catholic Cathedral Abakaliki.
Comrade and Mrs Nwambam, the sponsor of the marriage welcomed the new couple, Mr and Mrs Emmanuel Uchenna Onyibe in his Christian family, describing the ceremony as a new chapter of life for the couple.
"We are very grateful for witnessing another union formed under our spiritual and parental guidance as a family. We advise the couple to cherish time, avoid external interferences, and allow the love that brought them together to continue guiding their relationship.
"As a husband and wife, you should understand that marriage is a sacred institution, which must be nurtured diligently and according to divine principles to attract divine blessings," Nwambam said.
He expressed his readiness to continue fostering godly unions within his Christian family and advised his newly married God's children to embrace the spirit of understanding, tolerance, probity and faith in their marital journey.
"With God at your side, having taken the holy matrimonial vows, as a couple you must hold firm the spirit of understanding, tolerance, honesty and above all, demonstrate a high sense of faith in your marital journey as a married man and woman," Nwambam advised.
Earlier while delivering the sermon during the wedding, the officiating Priest, Rev Father Otitochi Ebisike congratulated Mr and Mrs Emmanuel Uchenna Onyibe for choosing to anchor their union as a husband and wife on God's principles.
He advised the couple against allowing third-party interferences in their union, but to follow the divine principles while building their new home by observing core values for a successful household.
He said, the notable values for a successful marriage as a legal union between a man and woman dwell on a partner being always faithful, tolerant, and respectful; not undering the spirit of understanding, forgiveness, and sincerity to each other.
The Priest noted that marriage as an institution remains very complex today but urged the couple to seek godly directives always for permanent solutions in all their challenges.
At the wedding reception, the Chairman of the ceremony, Stephen Mbam, described marriage as a lifetime journey where the certificate would be earned upon entrance, without any date for graduation and advised the couple to put their trust in God through prayers, and following His divine principles.
The reception was graced by the family members of both partners, their friends and well-wishers at Saint Mulumba Hall in Saint Theresa Cathedral Abakaliki Diocese.
