The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refuted claims circulating online that it has scheduled May 27, 2025, for the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), including services such as transfer and replacement of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
In a statement issued on Sunday, May 4, 2025, Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, described the information as false and urged the public to disregard the anonymous message.
He emphasized that the Commission has not fixed any date for the resumption of the CVR and assured that, in keeping with its established practice, the public will be duly informed through official channels once a date is decided.
INEC advised citizens to rely only on information disseminated through its verified social media handles and official communication outlets.
