Ebonyi-born industrialist and Managing Director of C-Sagas Group of Companies, Architect Christian Asaga Nwali, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for their strides in national and state development.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Abakaliki, Nwali also addressed growing public interest in his philanthropic efforts and speculation regarding potential political ambitions.
Nwali, widely recognized for his extensive charitable initiatives across Ebonyi State, reiterated that his humanitarian work stems from a deep-rooted personal commitment rather than any political aspiration.
“There is nothing new we are doing now that we haven’t been doing before,” Nwali remarked. “We’ve been building houses, donating vehicles, and supporting the underprivileged for over a decade. It didn’t just start because of politics.”
He recalled that seven years ago, during the 10th anniversary of his company, 10 vehicles were gifted to deserving individuals—long before any talk of political engagement emerged.
“Even then, I wasn’t running for office. I do these things because they bring me joy, not because I’m rich or eyeing any political position,” he emphasized. “My support extends to security personnel, gatekeepers, and others around me—purely out of compassion.”
On national affairs, Nwali praised President Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly the politically sensitive removal of fuel subsidy.
“Almost all major presidential candidates proposed removing the subsidy. President Tinubu simply had the courage to act. While inflation rose at first, current indicators suggest that GDP is improving and inflation is easing. The economy is beginning to stabilize,” he noted.
He commended the move as bold and necessary, expressing optimism that with sustained reforms, Nigeria is on a path to long-term stability and prosperity.
Turning to state matters, Nwali lauded Governor Francis Nwifuru for fostering peace, unity, and inclusive governance in Ebonyi State.
“You can’t achieve development in a chaotic environment. Governor Nwifuru has stabilized the state, and that alone is a remarkable achievement,” Nwali said. “His impact in infrastructure, education, and healthcare is visible across the state.”
He highlighted the importance of a peaceful environment for investment, noting that Nwifuru’s leadership has made Ebonyi conducive for both private and public sector growth.
When asked about his political future, particularly as 2027 approaches, Nwali downplayed the rumors, insisting he is not contemplating any elective position at this time.
“I’m not thinking about any election. It’s a serious decision, and one that depends on the will of the people and divine direction. For now, my focus remains on serving the society,” he said.
While acknowledging that many in his age bracket are qualified to seek office, Nwali emphasized that his personal mission lies elsewhere.
“All roads don’t lead to my destination. I know what my goals are—helping people and working with others to drive positive change.”
Nwali also underscored that his philanthropic efforts through the C-Sagas Charity Foundation are intended to complement—not compete with—government initiatives.
“Our work is reducing crime and hardship. Empowered people don’t turn to crime. We’re simply supporting the government in our own small way,” he explained.
He revealed that several well-placed individuals have partnered with the foundation to broaden its outreach, reinforcing a growing public-private alliance to tackle poverty and elevate living standards.
Reaffirming his unwavering dedication to humanitarian service, Architect Christian Nwali dismissed political speculations as mere distractions.
“Let the politicians talk. I’m focused. I know what I’m doing and why I’m doing it. My mission is centered on people, on humanity, and on progress,” he concluded.
