The Commissioner for Works in Ebonyi State, Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam, on Sunday hosted members of the Arewa Youth Development Forum at his residence in Abakaliki as they paid him a Sallah homage.
During the visit, Engr. Mbam urged Muslim faithful to use the Sallah period to pray for continued peace, unity, and progress in Ebonyi State and the nation at large. He stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among people of diverse backgrounds.
The Commissioner expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a sign of growing unity and cooperation among different ethnic groups in the state. He also praised the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru, citing significant improvements in infrastructure and governance, and encouraged the Hausa community to continue supporting the government’s development agenda.
“I want to thank you for your unity and support,” he said. “Coming together like this strengthens our confidence in a peaceful and inclusive society. The governor’s leadership has carried everyone along, including the Hausa community.”
“From Dr. Sam Egwu to Chief Martin Elechi to Engr. Dave Umahi and now to Governor Francis Nwifuru (FON), Ebonyi State has enjoyed consistent progress. Within just two years, FON has achieved remarkable strides,” he added.
Earlier, the Secretary of the Arewa Youth Development Forum, Umar Danjuma Gambo, commended the Commissioner for his efforts in improving the lives of residents through his work in the Ministry of Works.
“We came to appreciate the Commissioner for his significant contributions to Ebonyi’s development,” he said. “We remain committed to supporting the governor’s administration, which has demonstrated fairness, justice, and inclusiveness.”
