The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Dr. Mkor Aondona, Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue State on Documentation, Research, and Planning, over allegations of sextortion and cyber bullying.
According to a statement from the EFCC’s Makurdi Zonal Directorate, Aondona was apprehended on Friday, June 20, 2025, in Makurdi following a series of petitions filed by female students who accused him of sexually exploitative behaviour, blackmail, and online harassment.
The petitioners alleged that the aide lured young, slim, and attractive women by offering them ushering jobs, which he allegedly conditioned on the exchange of sexual favours.
Victims claimed that unknown to them, Aondona recorded the sexual encounters and later used the videos to threaten and coerce them into continued sexual involvement, warning them of possible leaks if they refused.
The EFCC said investigations are ongoing and that the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of inquiries.
The Benue State Government has yet to release an official statement regarding the arrest.
