The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has assured Nigerians of its commitment to reduce the cost of petroleum products and tackle the growing hunger crisis in the country if voted into power in the 2027 general elections.
The National Chairman of the party, Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu, gave the assurance during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday, July 16, 2025. He emphasized that the party has developed comprehensive policy frameworks aimed at reviving the economy, restoring social equity, and ensuring food security for all Nigerians.
“We will put an end to the hardship facing Nigerians,” Nwosu declared. “Fuel will no longer be a luxury. Our plans are targeted at making petrol and other energy sources affordable and available. Hunger must become a thing of the past.”
According to the ADC Chairman, the current economic hardships under the ruling administration have plunged millions of Nigerians into poverty and despair. He said the ADC is working with economic experts, agro-entrepreneurs, and energy analysts to craft a sustainable rescue agenda for the country.
“Our farmers will be supported, and the supply chain strengthened from farm to table. No child should go to bed hungry in a country as blessed as Nigeria,” he added.
The party further called on citizens, especially youths and women, to support the movement for change, stressing that only through responsible and visionary leadership can the country overcome its current socio-economic challenges.
Chief Nwosu said ADC remains committed to inclusivity, innovation, and integrity as it prepares to field credible candidates across all levels in the 2027 elections.
“Nigeria deserves better. The time is now,” he concluded.
