In a fiery press release dated July 12, 2025, APC chieftain and former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct nPDP, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has called out the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, over what he termed “broad daylight land fraud,” accusing him of allocating over 3,822 hectares of prime Abuja land to his two sons under questionable circumstances.
Reacting to Wike’s claim that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was behind the leak of the land scandal, Chief Eze lashed out: “Has Atiku become a staff of AGIS? What has he got to do with your underhand land dealings?"
He described Wike's attempt to shift blame to Atiku as a "tales by moonlight" tactic, calling it both feeble and dishonest, and an insult to the intelligence of Nigerians. Eze maintained that Atiku, a seasoned statesman and ex-Customs officer, has no ties to AGIS and must not be dragged into what he called Wike’s "renewed fraud agenda."
Eze also took a swipe at Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, dismissing his defense as a failed propaganda stunt and challenging him to clarify the ownership of JOAQ Farms and Jordan Farms and Estates Ltd—alleged beneficiaries of the controversial land allocations.
The APC chieftain went further to accuse Wike of abuse of office, demanding to know why an innocent AGIS staff, Mairiga Hassan Shaharu, was arrested if Wike had nothing to hide.
“If Wike isn’t paranoid, why arrest low-level AGIS workers over leaked documents?” Eze queried.
Calling on the Inspector General of Police to release all AGIS staff allegedly being harassed over the scandal, Eze warned Wike to stop his diversionary tactics and own up to his "mess."
He reminded Nigerians that the FCT Minister’s actions stand in direct contrast to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, branding Wike as "a man who sees himself as more powerful than the President."
