The Executive Chairman of Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has extended her heartfelt greetings to the people of Ezza Ezekuna Nation has they celebrate the 2025 Okeaku Festival — a revered cultural event symbolizing harvest, thanksgiving, and unity.
In a goodwill message, the Chairman described the Okeaku Festival as a proud reflection of Ezza identity, heritage, and agricultural excellence.
Nwali praised the people’s enduring spirit of hard work, hospitality, and communal harmony, which she said continue to drive development across the LGA.
“Okeaku is more than a festival — it is the soul of our culture and a tribute to the wisdom and labour of our forefathers,” the council boss said.
She reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to grassroots development, announcing that more rural road projects and community-linked initiatives are underway to connect villages and stimulate local economies.
“As your Chairman, I am resolute in ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every home. We are opening more access roads, improving infrastructure, and promoting community-based initiatives that reflect our values and priorities,” she assured.
The Chairman urged all Ezza sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, to use the festival to promote peace, unity, and support for the vulnerable. She emphasized the importance of cultural pride in preserving identity and guiding development efforts.
Nwali concluded with a strong traditional affirmation: “Ezza Ezekuna anyi abo ooh! Awhua l’aburu anyi awhua oma!” — a heartfelt prayer for continued peace, unity, and progress in every household.
