As tributes continue to pour in to mark the 62nd birthday of the Honourable Minister of Works, Senator David Nweze Umahi, a member of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Nwoke Victor Chidi, has described the former governor as “a visionary leader and the grandfather of modern Ebonyi.”
In a heartfelt message made available to the press, Nwoke, who represents Abakaliki North Constituency and serves as Chairman, House Committee on Youth Development and Sports, extolled Umahi’s contributions to public service, particularly in infrastructure and digital transformation.
"Your commitment to innovation, public service, and infrastructure development has inspired a generation," he said.
"As Minister of Works, you have brought vision, integrity, and excellence to governance, driving Nigeria’s digital roads revolution and promoting sustainable development," he further stated.
The lawmaker also highlighted Umahi’s humility and philanthropic nature beyond public office.
“You remain a beacon of hope and progress, embodying service, resilience, and patriotism. Your legacy continues to grow, inspiring others and leaving a lasting impression on our nation,” he added.
Nwoke concluded his tribute with prayers for greater strength, wisdom, and health for the Minister to continue his mission of national transformation.
Umahi, who turned 62 on July 25, 2025, is widely celebrated for his impactful governance style as a former two-term Governor of Ebonyi State and now as the nation’s Minister of Works.
