The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has inaugurated its Imo State Executive Committee (SEC), with Prof. James Okoroma emerging as State Chairman, in what the party described as a new dawn for credible leadership, grassroots inclusivity, and people-driven politics in the state.
The inauguration, which held at the party’s state headquarters in New Owerri, drew enthusiastic party faithful, leaders, and stakeholders who hailed the exercise as a turning point in the repositioning of the ADC as a fortress of integrity and inclusiveness.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Okoroma assured that the new leadership would pursue political reawakening with unwavering commitment, promising to give the people of Imo State “a voice that cannot be silenced.”
The National Vice Chairman, South East, Sir Bon Unachukwu, who presided over the event, reaffirmed the ADC’s mission to strengthen democracy, uphold justice, and offer Nigerians credible alternatives through Imo State. He stressed that the party remains unshaken in its resolve to provide transformative leadership.
Also present was the Director General of the Rebuild Imo Movement, Dr. Vin Udokwu, who commended the new executives and charged them to deliver on the party’s vision.
The newly inaugurated SEC includes seasoned politicians and professionals such as Chief Damian Ezeagu (Deputy Chairman), Barr. Greg Ihejirika (State Secretary), Barr. Kissinger Ikeokwu (Legal Adviser), Chief MacDonald Amadi (Publicity Secretary), Mrs. Uju Ihejiagwa (Woman Leader), and Emedo Chika (Youth Leader), among others.
Party supporters, who thronged the venue with chants and songs, described the inauguration as the rebirth of vision and a bold step towards redefining Imo’s political landscape.
With the new leadership in place, the ADC declared that “the era of indifference is over, and the time of people-driven politics has begun.”
