The National President of Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum (INYF), Comrade Andrew Chibueze Elom JP, has issued a scathing rebuttal to allegations by former Ominyi Development Centre Coordinator, Cajethan Njoku, accusing him of hypocrisy and double standards over recent political statements in Ebonyi State.
In a statement titled “A Counter to the Ill-Fated Response by Cajethan Njoku on the Recent Press Release by the Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum”, Elom described Njoku’s claims as “false, malicious, and paid propaganda” aimed at tarnishing his image.
Njoku, in his earlier response to an INYF statement, alleged that both Elom and Chief Maurice Mbam had privately endorsed and guided the formulation of an article accusing Governor Francis Nwifuru’s administration of ethnic bias.
He challenged Elom to produce a verifiable list of political and traditional appointments classified by kindred groups to disprove his claims.
But Elom dismissed the allegations as a “hatchet job” orchestrated by political paymasters, clarifying that he had not been in contact with Njoku since 2023.
“It is not only scornful but an aberration to see you linking me to your ill-fated gibberish you called publication.
"A drowning man can clutch at anything, even a straw to be saved but for you, Cajethan, I will not allow myself to be dragged down,” Elom stated.
The NIYF President urged the public to disregard Njoku’s “self-driven publication” and vowed to seek both legal redress and traditional sanctions through the revered ancestral deity Edupfu Inyirigbada.
While Njoku insists his accusations are backed by data and promises to publish “undeniable evidence” of the marginalisation of the Unwuera kindred, Elom maintains the attack is politically motivated and devoid of factual basis.
This fiery exchange has further intensified the debate over political appointments and ethnic representation within the Izzi clan under Governor Nwifuru’s administration, with both sides refusing to back down from their positions.
