The National FON Scholars in Ebonyi State have lauded Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for what they described as the greatest human capital investment in the state’s history, following the full payment of entitlements to more than 600 beneficiaries of the FON Scholarship Scheme.
In a statement signed by the National Coordinator, Nwodom Stan Nwodom, the group noted that the governor’s commitment to education has redefined leadership by placing knowledge and innovation at the center of his People's Charter of Needs mantra.
According to the scholars, the scholarship scheme covering Master’s and PhD students within and outside Nigeria has already begun yielding results, with many MSc graduates emerging with distinctions, while doctoral candidates are making strides in research that place Ebonyi on the global academic map.
Beneficiaries are currently excelling in institutions such as Ebonyi State University, Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, University of Nigeria Nsukka, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, University of Uyo, and several others across the world.
The group described the governor’s intervention as “not merely about funding education, but about changing destinies, empowering families, and building a legacy of intellectual giants.”
While pledging unwavering loyalty and support, the scholars prayed for the governor’s continued strength to transform lives and etch Ebonyi State “into the book of greatness.”
