The Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) Chikelue Iloenyosi has disclosed that he has the capacity to deliver the goods in the association and return Anambra as the hub of football in Nigeria.
Iloenyosi popularly called the "General" in the nation's football and social circles, made the declaration while answering questions on his stewardship in office with attendant strides and challenges.
The defensive stalwart known as "Confusion" in his secondary school days due to his dexterity in twarting opposing strikers forays, said that leadership was about people and a call to service.
" I have always practicalised the concept of leadership being about the people, a call to service and call to use available human and material resources to achieve organisational goals.
"Since assuming office as the Chairman of Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA), I have pragmatically and proactively repositioned. football administration in the "Light of the Nation.
"This has awed many, including critics and naysayers which has resulted in reports from uninformed people who don't understand how football works."
He noted that realising that competitions are the hallmarks of football development, the FA has consistently organised competitions to unearth budding talents and bring back memories of the good old playing days.
"The recently concluded MANFES/ANSFA All Stars Football competition among others held before it, is a testament of my avid commitment to collaborate with the private sector in promoting football activities in Anambra.
"This leads credence to the accepted submission that football nay other sports, should not be left for the government alone.
"The state government led by His Excellency, Prof. Charles Soludo has greatly supported the FA providing infrastructural and material support for us to achieve all objectives.
"It is on record that Anambra FA is the only one in the country which is captured in the state budget and we thank the governor for such gesture."
Iloenyosi said that contrary to naysayers assertions, the FA has always opened its doors for investors to support football development in the state.
"The unquantified successes recorded in sports development in the state could not had been possible without the active involvement of both government and private interests.
"The championship sponsored by renowned Pharmaceutical Company, MANFES was a huge success and as the CEO of the company said, the Anambra FA has been a worthy partner in football development."
He used the opportunity to re-clarify the difference between sponsorship and partnership which misconception has made naysayers make uninformed utterances.
"MANFES pharmaceuticals for instance, did not sponsoring the championship but partnered with the FA to see to its fruition.
"In partnership, the company is providing logistics for the championship while the FA is providing the administrative impetus and enabling environment for the championship.
"Sponsorship entails that the sponsor foots the whole bill incurred in competitions with necessary accruals to the FA".
Iloenyosi noted that as approved by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) elections into the FA's congress and local football council would be held after the world cup qualifiers.
"My petition against Mr Iyke Igbokwe, led to his arrest and I will still institute legal actions against him for labelling me and leadership of the NFF criminals."
