***Family, community demand for justice
Following the death of an SS2 student at Federal Government College, Okposi-Okwu, heavy protest has engulfed the institution as family and the entire community is demanding for justice to unravel the circumstances that led to the sudden death of their son in the school.
The protesters from Okposi Okwu community, were seeing with carrying placards with varying inscription such as: `who killed Ebuka,Evill people are running FGC Okposi,IGP stop the killing and bring justice,we saw no to brutal killings", among others.
The protesters insisted that justice must prevail in order to unravel those behind the death of their son, Ebuka Chukwu and also called for government intervention over the matter.
Speaking unbehalf of the the town union(OODU),Mr.Collins Agwu expressed sadness over the development, stating the autopsy result jointly conducted with the school management indicated that Ebuka Chukwu was killed before he was thrown into the stream to cover up, stating that one of the staff,Mr.Danjuma should explain why he directed Ebuka and other students to go after hoodlums as alleged.
``We are not happy about this incident,as other students are returning today,our son would have been coming alongside others.But we are not here to fight; we want to ensure that justice prevailed.
`The school management is playing politics with it.We came to register our grievances over the gruesome murder of our son.
``The school management paid for the autopsy and the result confirmed that he was killed, have seen the wounds and other signs in his body.
``Why must a staff of the school,Danjuma sent Ebuka and others to go after hoodlums as alleged; while the have security.It is mismanagement of administration, because a student is not supposed to chase hoodlums."
Also expressing his grievances ,Mr Chiadikaobi Obasi,a native of the community lamented bitterly over the incident,alleging that the management of the institution has been maltreating indigenous students and staff working at the college, saying that the Okposi Okwu community is known for peace and should not be pushed to the wall, have contributed a lot to the growth and development of the college.
Responding unbehalf of the school,the Vice Principal,Mr.Ojima O.Emmanuel expressed shock over the sudden death, stating that the never new that he won't be revived back to life immediately.
He, however, assured the protesters that the school management will corporate with the community to unravel those behind the death of Ebuka Chukwu.
``I was thinking that the will revive him immediately,but unfortunately,he didn't make it.Your coming around to express your grievances is normal, because Ebuka supposed to resume with others students today.It will be very sad for any staff to be involved in murdering any student.It is hard to believe.
``I want to assure you that the school will work with you to unveil the circumstances that led to his death.
When contacted for his reaction,the Police PPRO, Joshua Ukandu stated that the matter is still under investigation; about 3 persons have been arrested in connection to the issue.He added that the body of the diseased was found in the stream when the incident occurred.
According to close sources,the incident occurred on 27th July,when one of the staff name Danjuma sent students, including Ebuka to go after hoodlums which led to his death.
