The lawmaker representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, OON, has commended the Ebonyi State First Lady, Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, on her recent honour as the Most Outstanding First Lady in Nigeria at the 2025 National Leadership Award Ceremony in Abuja.
Ogah, who also chairs the House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, described the recognition as a well-deserved reward for Mrs. Nwifuru’s tireless contributions to the empowerment of women, children, and internally displaced persons.
According to him, the Ebonyi First Lady’s pet project, Better Health for Rural Women and Children and Internally Displaced Persons Foundation (BERWO), has brought hope, healthcare, and social welfare to vulnerable groups across the state and beyond.
“Your Excellency, your selfless dedication to improving the lives of others has not gone unnoticed. This award is a testament to your character, leadership, and passion for humanity,” Ogah stated.
The lawmaker further noted that Mrs. Nwifuru’s honour on the national stage was not only a personal achievement but also a reflection of Ebonyi State’s rising profile in governance and social development.
He prayed for God’s continued blessings on the First Lady and expressed optimism that her trailblazing efforts would inspire others to make lasting impacts in their communities.
