Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (rtd.), has condemned Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, over his reported verbal assault on a uniformed military officer, describing the act as a serious threat to national security.
Buratai said the incident undermines military discipline, weakens the chain of command, and disrespects the authority of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Commander-in-Chief.
He urged Wike to issue an immediate public apology to the President, the Armed Forces, and the officer involved, stressing that Nigeria’s security institutions must not be politicized.
“Our national security must come first. The integrity of the Armed Forces demands nothing less,” Buratai stated.
