Former Ebonyi State Commissioner for Education, Prince Ndubuisi Chibueze Agbo, has criticized the previous administration for shutting down his school, describing the action as harmful to the state’s educational development.
Addressing journalists, Agbo accused the former government, led by Sam Ominyi Egwu, of allowing “baseless gossip” to overshadow meaningful governance and hinder progress in the education sector.
He commended Governor Francis Nwifuru for what he called a decisive and reform-driven approach to revitalizing education. Agbo highlighted the governor’s tours of educational institutions and efforts aimed at addressing long-standing challenges as evidence of his commitment to improving learning standards.
According to him, the current administration has recorded notable achievements in education, infrastructure, and human capital development, exceeding public expectations.
Agbo also dismissed speculations about contesting for a House of Representatives seat in 2027, stating that he has no such ambition. He pledged full support for Governor Nwifuru’s re-election bid, citing confidence in the governor’s vision for the state.
He said the renewed focus on educational reform under the present administration reflects a broader shift among stakeholders prioritizing long-term development in Ebonyi.
