Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has congratulated Professor Daniel Nwachukwu on his emergence as the Vice Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ikwo (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State.
The Governor described the appointment as well-deserved, noting that it reflects Professor Nwachukwu’s outstanding academic credentials, proven leadership capacity, and years of dedicated service to scholarship and institutional development.
Governor Nwifuru in a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr Monday Uzor congratulated the new Vice Chancellor, a Professor of Cardiovascular Physiology and an indigene of Okposi in Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state, following his appointment by the Governing Council of the University as the 4th substantive Vice Chancellor.
According to the Governor, Professor Nwachukwu’s emergence was not accidental but a product of diligence, competence, and accumulated experience in academia and university administration.
“This historic appointment is a confirmation and hallmark of your outstanding academic pedigree, proven leadership capacity, and years of dedicated service to scholarship and institutional development,” the Governor said.
Governor Nwifuru expressed confidence that the new Vice Chancellor’s appointment has inspired stakeholders’ trust and would usher in a new era of purposeful leadership, research innovation, and sustainable growth at the University.
“Your emergence inspires confidence among stakeholders that the University is set to witness a new era of academic excellence, research innovation, and sustainable institutional development,” he added.
The Governor further stated that the Ebonyi State Government is confident that Professor Nwachukwu’s vision for the University will align with the People’s Charter of Needs Agenda of his administration, which is anchored on human capital development, inclusive progress, and transformational governance.
He noted that under Professor Nwachukwu’s leadership, AE-FUNAI is expected to further strengthen its role as a centre of excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and community service.
Governor Nwifuru wished the new Vice Chancellor a successful tenure and assured him of the support and cooperation of the Ebonyi State Government in advancing the University’s mandate.
