The Chairman of the House Committee on Reformatory Institutions and Member representing Ikwo/Ezza-South Federal Constituency, Comrade Chinedu Ogah has called on youths in Ebonyi State to fully leverage the empowerment programmes of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute to the state’s socio-economic development.
Ogah made the remarks on Friday, during the 2025 Ebonyi Youth Summit and FON Youth Movement Award Night held in Abakaliki.
The event, organized by the FON Youth Movement led by Comrade Chinedu Emerike, brought together youths from all 13 local government areas of the state and highlighted youth achievements across various sectors.
Speaking at the event, Ogah commended Governor Nwifuru for his youth-friendly, inclusive governance and consistent efforts to empower young people through training programs, skill acquisition initiatives, and business support schemes.
He encouraged Ebonyi youths to take advantage of these programs, emphasizing that proactive participation in the state’s empowerment initiatives would enable them to acquire skills, generate income, and create sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their communities.
Ogah also commended the FON Youth Movement for successfully organizing the event, which provided a platform for young people to network, learn, and be recognized for their contributions to the state’s development.
The award night attracted top dignitaries, including the Governor’s representative, Chief Moses Ije Odunwa, former Governor Martin Elechi (represented), APC leaders, commissioners, and other stakeholders, all of whom lauded the government’s commitment to youth development.
Ogah urged the youths to remain focused, disciplined, and innovative in utilizing the opportunities provided by the Nwifuru-led administration, stressing that such engagement would not only improve their personal livelihoods but also strengthen Ebonyi State’s economy and future.
