The Chairman of the House Committee on Reformatory Institutions and Member representing Ikwo/Ezza-South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon Chinedu Ogah has urged Christians to embrace unity and support church-led developmental efforts.
Ogah made the call during the Eucharistic celebration marking the crossover night service at St. Elizabeth Parish, Item Amagu, Ikwo Local Government Area. He was accompanied by his wife, Chief Mrs. Mary Chinedu Ogah.
Addressing the congregation, the federal lawmaker commended the Parish’s leadership under Rev. Fr. Kenneth Andrew Onyekwere for fostering stability, growth, and a peaceful environment within the Church community.
He emphasized that effective church leadership is critical to building a morally upright and organized society.
“Unity among Christians is not just a spiritual obligation but also a foundation for societal peace and progress.
“I encourage all members of St. Elizabeth Parish to remain committed to supporting the Church and its developmental projects," hr said.
In a demonstration of his support, Ogah made several significant donations to the Parish. These contributions included funding for the construction of the Parish Church, the primary and secondary schools, priests’ quarters, and other supporting structures. He personally donated Five Million Naira (₦5,000,000) to aid church maintenance and enhance secondary school education, ensuring a more conducive learning environment.
Additionally, in recognition of the invaluable role of women in Church growth, Ogah, on behalf of his wife, presented a donation of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (₦500,000) to the women of the Parish.
The event drew large participation from parishioners, who commended the lawmaker for his consistent support and commitment to both spiritual and community development.
