The group, which basically cuts across women from different tribe, origin and culture, said their decision became necessary because of how the Governor has shown magnanimity to the women folk in his administration.
Describing the Governor as a Women-friendly Governor, praised the Governor for choosing a woman in the first instance to be his Deputy of the State and giving his wife the free hand to implement policies beneficial to every woman in the State.
Speaking at a gathering in Abakaliki, the founder and National President of Zealous Women Organization
Mrs Njideka Ugwuegbulam further explained that the accomplishments of the Governor within the period under review motivated them to endorse the Governor for another term in office.
According to her, "Zealous Women Organisation is the assemblage of the African women who are interested in the welfare and upliftment of the womenfolk. Our vision is to accelerate the enthronement of African women in every sphere of human endeavour.
"Our interest is purely that of women, but the purpose of gathering today is because we have considered Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State as Women-friendly. His administration has been favouring women, for instance, he chose a woman to pair with him as his Deputy Governor.
"I have seen his executive council, and he has women too in his cabinet and when he traveled one time outside the shore of Nigeria, he handed over to a woman, his Deputy Governor. He has done a lot of programs, which women benefited from it.
"This organization is not purely a political organization but we are not apolitical too because we have decided to go into politics because the Governor has women the expectations in his heart. And so we have endorsed him for second tenure.
"We are many and we have our members from the state to grassroots level; let me emphasize that we have State, Local government and Ward level executives. We have been sensitizing the people of the State from the state to community level. This sensitization is done mainly by our women because we love our Governor.
"He had done many things for the women and we have to commend him highly for his academic empowerment programs, improved health care system, improved security architecture of the State, robust economy, among others too numerous to mention." She concludes
Reacting to the endorsement of the Governor, the State's All Progressives Congress, APC, Youth leader, Comrade Prince Ogbonna Alo commended the bold move made by the Women Organisation by endorsing Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for another term in office.
He noted that the endorsement was a clear testament of the numerous impacts Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru have been making in the course of handling the affairs of the State.
"We are here because a group came together and endorsed Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for another term in office. They are the Zealous Women's Organization in Ebonyi state. They gathered in mass here at Fatilami Abubakar Park Abakaliki, today.
"They endorsed the Right Honorable Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi state, for his good work and his good jobs and the way he is taking care of the people of Ebonyi State. Another reason they gathered in mass and endorsed His Excellency Right Honorable Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is him to do more of his good works."
He expressed gladness over the endorsement and charged Ebonyi people to feel free and express themselves, following the gesture of the present adminstrative in the State.
"Well, my Party is very glad over this endorsement because that is exactly what we want. We want everybody to prove and show by themselves what the Right Honorable Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is doing well in Ebonyi State.
"What the present administration has been able to achieve is that in Ebonyi State people can easily move freely without any form of fear, harassment and intimidation. You can be moving on the road from morning to even 3'oclock in the morning and there will be no issues at all.
"And that is the kind of the thing that all of us are happy about his administration. And his administration has shown that it has love for Ebonyi people and we are so much glad about his administration." He added.
