The people of Ogbuchie Amachi Village, Amachi Community in Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have successfully addressed a long-standing water scarcity issue by constructing a motorized borehole with an overhead tank and a concrete culvert bridge.
The projects were funded through contributions from the village’s resources and personal donations, aimed at improving the livelihood of residents.
While commissioning the projects, the Chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Area, Chief Stephen Ebere Nwogba, commended the villagers for initiating such legacy projects. She also pledged to initiate the renovation of Ogbuchie Amachi Primary School, which was damaged by heavy winds, soon.
On his part, the Coordinator of Enyida Development Centre, Hon. Ruben Edeh, expressed surprise at the projects and commended the community for their commitment to development, describing it as a first of its kind in the council.
