The endorsement came during a large-scale solidarity rally held at Ebonyi House in Maryland, Lagos, where participants drawn from across various sectors including traders, professionals, artisans, and community leaders gathered to demonstrate support for the governor’s administration.
The event was convened by Nwigwe Chibueze Uzo, Chief Executive Officer of Omni Group, under the aegis of Omni Grassroot Ambassadors (OGA).
It was themed “Uniting Ebonyians for the Re-election of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru,” and served as a platform to galvanize diaspora backing for continuity in governance.
Addressing the gathering, Uzo described the rally as a strategic effort to mobilize Ebonyi indigenes both within and outside the state in support of Nwifuru’s second term ambition.
He commended the governor’s performance, highlighting strides in infrastructure, education, security, and social welfare under the administration’s “People’s Charter of Needs.”
According to him, the visible impact of the governor’s policies has earned him widespread acceptance among Ebonyians in the diaspora.
Participants at the rally expressed their support through chants and songs, filling the venue to capacity while pledging to mobilize voters in favour of the governor in 2027.
The rally also featured a vote of confidence in two federal lawmakers, Kama Nkemkanma, representing Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo Federal Constituency, and Anthony Okorie Ani of Ebonyi South Senatorial District as attendees endorsed their return to the National Assembly.
Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of continuity in legislative representation, noting that retaining experienced lawmakers would help sustain ongoing development initiatives across constituencies.
Uzo also used the occasion to express solidarity with the Minister of Works, David Nweze Umahi, urging critics to allow him to focus on his national assignment.
The event ended with a collective pledge by leaders of Ebonyi town unions in Lagos to mobilize support for the endorsed candidates, a move organizers say reflects growing unity among Ebonyi stakeholders in the diaspora as the 2027 elections approach.
