A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has urged Nigerians not to lose hope in the face of prevailing economic hardship, assuring that an alternative political platform, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), is on a mission to rescue and reposition the country.
In a press statement issued on March 20, 2026, Eze expressed deep concern over what he described as the worsening socio-economic conditions under the administration of President Bola Tinubu, noting that many Nigerians are grappling with policies he termed “obnoxious” and anti-people.
He, however, called on citizens to remain steadfast and optimistic, stressing that the nation’s challenges are temporary and surmountable.
“I want to use this period to urge Nigerians not to despair due to the present economic hardship we have been made to pass through by the APC-led government,” Eze stated.
The APC stalwart maintained that from the outset of the current administration, many Nigerians had expressed doubts about its capacity to deliver good governance, adding that recent developments have further reinforced such concerns.
According to him, the ADC represents a viable alternative with the capacity to “salvage the country from the grip of despotic, nepotistic and poorly conceived leadership.”
Eze’s message coincided with the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. He used the occasion to felicitate with Muslim faithful across the country and beyond, while also extending special greetings to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
“I wish to extend my warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to Atiku Abubakar and all Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan,” he said.
He emphasized that the Eid celebration serves as a reminder of shared values such as sacrifice, compassion, unity, and devotion to God, urging Nigerians to use the period to pray for national peace, healing, and prosperity.
Eze further noted the spiritual significance of the period, pointing out that this year’s Eid-el-Fitr coincides with the Christian Lenten season, describing it as a unique moment of collective reflection, prayer, and fasting across religious lines.
“May this Eid bring renewed hope, healing, and prosperity to every home. Let us continue to promote tolerance, understanding, and peaceful coexistence,” he added.
While reiterating his criticism of the current administration, Eze expressed confidence that a future ADC-led government would reverse the country’s economic decline and restore hope among citizens.
“The incoming ADC government will truly turn around the fortunes of this country and reverse the current hardship we are all going through,” he assured.
He called on Nigerians to remain united and committed to the ideals of nation-building, despite present difficulties, stressing that collective resilience and faith remain key to overcoming the nation’s challenges.
