An aspirant for the position of Ohaukwu North Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chief Nweke Peter Amechi, has urged the residents of Alioma and Effium Autonomous Communities not to succumb to despair amidst the turmoil instigated by the unfortunate conflict between the two communities.
While addressing journalists in Abakaliki to announce his candidacy for the forthcoming primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Nweke Peter Amechi sought the support of the constituency’s populace for the peace initiatives championed by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Chief Nweke described the crisis that erupted between Alioma and Effium Autonomous Communities as deeply lamentable, emphasizing that this is a pivotal moment for the residents to contemplate strategies for rebuilding their community and fostering a sustainable return to tranquility.
He implored the citizens of both Effium and Alioma Autonomous Communities to rally behind him in his mission to rejuvenate the areas and restore them to a trajectory of economic revitalization.
He asserted that, in the realm of agriculture, he intends to collaborate with the youth and dedicated farmers to reclaim the identity that the region is renowned for as the food basket of Ebonyi State.
He assured the constituents that he would represent their interests with utmost diligence and attract governmental attention to the area to facilitate rapid community development.
He further declared that the era of gangsterism, violence, discord, and cult-related activities has come to an end, urging the populace to embrace love, peace, unity, and solidarity for the collective betterment of all.
