In many communities across Nigeria, traditional medicine continues to play a vital role in healthcare and spiritual guidance. Among the new generation of practitioners carrying this ancient tradition forward is Dr. Aliobu Emeka Simon, popularly known as Dr. Smoke, a respected herbal healer from Unagboke in Ezza Nation, Ebonyi State.
At just 29 years old, Dr. Smoke Aliobu has already spent 17 years practicing herbal and spiritual healing, making him one of the youngest experienced practitioners in the field. His healing centre, Dr. Smoke Aliobu Solutions Centre, has gradually become a destination for individuals seeking solutions to various spiritual and herbal-related challenges.
The bold inscription “DR. SMOKE ALIOBU SOLUTIONS CENTRE” welcomes visitors at the entrance of his temple, where he receives clients from different parts of the country. Known for his calm demeanor and professional approach, Dr. Smoke Aliobu is widely regarded as a gentle but dedicated practitioner in the herbal healing profession.
According to those familiar with his journey, Dr. Smoke began showing interest in herbal medicine during his early childhood. Over the years, he devoted himself to learning the traditional practices passed down through generations. His work focuses on addressing different forms of spiritual problems and providing guidance through traditional spiritual consultation known as AFA, a respected divination practice in Igbo culture used to uncover hidden issues affecting individuals and families.
Through years of practice, Dr. Smoke has combined traditional knowledge with a modern approach to herbal healing. His centre is organized in a way that reflects professionalism, a quality that has helped him gain recognition among clients and fellow practitioners alike.
Because of his dedication to the field, Dr. Smoke is regarded by many as a rising ambassador for traditional healing. He is also a fully registered member of the National Union of Medical and Herbal Practitioners, a professional body that regulates and represents herbal practitioners across Nigeria.
However, while his professional journey continues to inspire many, the young healer recently experienced a personal loss with the passing of his beloved mother. The Herbal Union of Ebonyi State extended their heartfelt condolences to him, acknowledging both his contribution to the profession and the sorrow he faces during this difficult period.
Despite the grief, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers believe that Dr. Smoke will continue to carry on his healing mission. For many who have encountered his work, his story is one of dedication, resilience, and a deep commitment to preserving and advancing the traditions of herbal medicine in modern Nigeria.
As traditional healing continues to evolve in the country, practitioners like Dr. Smoke represent a new generation working to bridge the gap between ancient knowledge and contemporary practice while transforming lives along the way.
