Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has welcomed the judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on the leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing it as a significant affirmation of the party’s leadership structure.
In a statement shared via his X handle on Thursday, Atiku reacted to the ruling which upheld the position of former Senate President David Mark and the existing leadership arrangement of the party.
He described the court’s decision as a welcome development, noting that it reinforces internal stability within the ADC at a critical time. However, he cautioned that the ruling should not lead to complacency among party members and supporters.
According to him, the broader political struggle facing the party and the country remains ongoing, stressing the need for continued commitment and vigilance.
He maintained that the outcome of the case represents a victory for Nigerians who remain determined to see meaningful political change.
Atiku further urged supporters of the party to remain steadfast, insisting that the mission to “rescue the country” is far from over.
He emphasized that sustained unity and focus would be required as the party moves beyond its internal legal battles.
The Supreme Court judgment is expected to bring temporary relief to tensions within the ADC as stakeholders begin to realign ahead of future political engagements.
