The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has concluded arrangements to organize a CAF B-License refresher course and a comprehensive CAF A-License coaching programme as part of efforts to strengthen technical and coaching capacity across the country.
The NFF disclosed that the CAF B-License refresher course will hold between June 20 and June 24, 2026, while the CAF A-License programme will run in six modules from August 2, 2026 to February 7, 2027.
According to the Federation, the CAF B Refresher and CAF A pre-course assessments will be conducted both virtually and physically between June 1 and June 23, 2026, to evaluate applicants’ competencies before admission into the elite coaching programme.
Speaking on the initiative, the NFF Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen, said the programme forms part of the federation’s broader strategy to improve the quality of coaching in Nigerian football.
“This is part of the NFF’s strategic effort to build the capacity of coaches across the country,” Eguavoen stated.
The former Super Eagles coach recalled that Nigeria was recently readmitted into the Confederation of African Football (CAF) A-License Convention after spending nine years outside the framework, describing the development as a major boost for football development in the country.
The federation explained that only 25 candidates would be admitted into the CAF A-License programme after undergoing rigorous assessments in game analysis, reading and writing, presentation abilities, and computer literacy.
To qualify for the programme, applicants must be active elite-level coaches working with national teams, clubs in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Nigeria National League (NNL), Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), or Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO).
Applicants are also expected to possess a CAF B diploma, demonstrate proficiency in English language communication, and have access to a laptop or tablet throughout the duration of the programme.
Other requirements include computer literacy, a medical certificate certifying physical and mental fitness, submission of curriculum vitae, and a reference letter.
The NFF further stated that successful candidates from the refresher course and pre-assessment stage would receive a CAF CMS link to commence the CAF A-License registration process.
Under the fee structure released by the federation, Nigerian applicants for the CAF A-License course are expected to pay N3 million each, while foreign applicants will pay 3,000 US dollars.
For the CAF B-License refresher course, Nigerian coaches are to pay N700,000 each.
The federation fixed Sunday, May 31, 2026 as the deadline for applications into the CAF A-License programme.
