The President-General of Oha Izhi Nnodo and traditional ruler of Nkaleke Echara Unuhu Autonomous Community in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, His Royal Highness Eze Sunday Nkwegu Oketa, has lost his biological mother, Chief Mrs. Anigor Oketa.
According to information made available by family sources and shared on social media, Chief Mrs. Anigor Oketa died late on Sunday, June 28, 2026, after a brief illness.
The news of her passing has thrown family members, associates and members of the Izhi community into mourning, with an outpouring of condolences from friends, traditional rulers, community leaders and well-wishers across Ebonyi State and beyond.
Since the announcement of her death, condolence messages have continued to pour in on various social media platforms, where sympathisers described the late matriarch as a loving mother, a woman of virtue and a pillar of support to her family and community.
Many of those who expressed sympathy prayed for God to grant Eze Sunday Nkwegu Oketa, the entire Oketa family and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss.
