The Ebonyi State Government has issued a seven-day ultimatum to a dismissed Special Assistant on Security (Airport), Mr. Nnanna Nwangene, directing him to return all government properties allegedly in his possession or face legal action.
The directive was contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Internal Security, Etta Uka-Ude, who said the order followed the termination of the aide’s appointment by Governor Francis Nwifuru.
According to the statement, the assets yet to be recovered include a 20-foot container loaded with air conditioners, a motorcycle attached to the office, and a caterpillar equipment previously under the supervision of the dismissed aide.
The government directed Mr. Nwangene to return all listed items either personally or through a representative to the Office of the Commissioner for Internal Security within seven days of receiving the notice.
It warned that failure to comply within the stipulated period would compel the state to initiate legal and administrative actions to recover the assets and safeguard public property.
The former aide was recently relieved of his duties and reportedly barred from accessing government premises over alleged internal indiscipline during his tenure.
Government officials said the recovery exercise is part of efforts to enforce accountability and prevent loss or diversion of public assets under official custody.
