…Says foundation solidly behind APC, Nwifuru administration
The President of Women of Grace Foundation Nigeria (WGFN), Princess Modester Amarachi Nwifuru, has issued a strong warning against any attempt by individuals or groups to use her name, identity or that of the Women of Grace Foundation to engage in political activities in support of opposition political parties.
Princess Nwifuru gave the warning on Saturday while reacting to reports and rumours making the rounds that members of the Women of Grace Foundation Nigeria, WGFN were allegedly sighted at the compound of a candidate of the opposition political party instead of participating in the solidarity and support rally for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates at Ugbodo, headquarters of Ebonyi Local Government Area, ahead of the August 22, 2026 local government elections today.
The President, on behalf of the entire membership of the foundation, categorically dissociated the organisation from the reported development, describing the allegation as false, mischievous and a calculated attempt to create confusion, undermine the credibility of the foundation and drag her name into partisan activities she did not authorise.
She stated unequivocally that the Women of Grace Foundation remains firmly aligned with the APC and its candidates, from the presidential level through the governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly and local government elections, insisting that members of the foundation are committed to mobilising support for the party and its candidates at all levels.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I want to state clearly and without equivocation that the Women of Grace Foundation, under my leadership, is working for the All Progressives Congress and its candidates. We are not working for any opposition political party.
“Nobody should use my name, my position or the name, uniform and identity of Women of Grace Foundation to undertake any political engagement that is contrary to the position of the foundation. Any person doing so is acting without our authority and should be held responsible for such conduct.”
Princess Nwifuru said the foundation's commitment to the APC was based on its assessment of the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, particularly what she described as the administration's efforts toward peace, stability, infrastructure development, social intervention, empowerment, healthcare, education and improved opportunities for women and vulnerable members of society.
According to her, the foundation has continued to mobilise women and other members of the grassroots for good governance and the sustenance of what she described as the development-oriented programmes of the APC-led administration in Ebonyi State.
She described the alleged appearance of persons wearing the foundation's uniform at an opposition political gathering, if confirmed, as an unacceptable act capable of misleading the public and damaging the reputation painstakingly built by the organisation.
“Women of Grace Foundation Nigeria is not a platform for political impersonation. We have our structure, our leadership and our clearly defined political position. Our members know where we stand, and nobody has the right to manufacture another position for us.
“Any individual or group attempting to infiltrate our organisation, impersonate our members, wear our uniform or use our name to support an opposition party is acting fraudulently and without our consent.”
The President further disclosed that the Women of Grace Foundation Nigeria is a duly registered organisation with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and has remained committed to its core mandate of addressing the challenges confronting less privileged persons, vulnerable women, widows, children and other disadvantaged members of society.
She stressed that the foundation's humanitarian activities should not be confused with unauthorised political activities carried out by individuals who may seek to exploit its name for personal or political interests.
Princess Nwifuru therefore called on members of the public to disregard what she described as fabricated stories suggesting that the foundation has abandoned the APC or is secretly working for opposition political parties.
She also urged members of the foundation to remain vigilant and immediately report any person suspected of impersonating the organisation, wearing its uniform or falsely presenting himself or herself as a representative of the Women of Grace Foundation at any political event.
“Our eyes are wide open, and we will not allow anybody to infiltrate this organisation or compromise its integrity. We are already putting appropriate measures in place to identify and expose anyone who attempts to use our name or uniform for political activities that we have not authorised.
“We equally call on the security agencies and other relevant authorities to investigate any credible report of impersonation and ensure that anyone found to have deliberately engaged in such acts is dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
“Nobody is above the law, and nobody should mistake our peaceful disposition and humanitarian activities for weakness.”
She urged the public to seek clarification directly from the leadership of the Women of Grace Foundation Nigeria whenever information concerning the organisation's activities is in doubt, rather than relying on rumours, social media reports or politically motivated claims.
The President reiterated that the foundation would continue to mobilise its members peacefully and lawfully in support of the APC and its candidates while maintaining its humanitarian programmes across communities.
“We are women of peace, compassion and development, but we are also women who know what we stand for. Our political position is clear. Our loyalty is clear. Our members are clear. The APC is our chosen political platform, and we shall continue to support its candidates from the presidency down to the grassroots.
“Those spreading falsehoods should stop immediately. Those attempting to impersonate our members should desist. And those who have information about such activities should bring it to our attention promptly so that appropriate lawful action can be taken.”
Princess Nwifuru finally appealed to members of the public, supporters of the foundation and relevant stakeholders to remain calm, law-abiding and discerning, assuring them that the Women of Grace Foundation Nigeria would not be distracted from its humanitarian mission, grassroots mobilisation and support for the APC-led administration in Ebonyi State.
