The people of the Izzi clan, comprising Abakaliki, Ebonyi and Izzi Local Government Areas in Ebonyi State have embarked on a three-day power-packed prayer submission aimed at dedicating their land to the hands of God as well as championing unity, peace and overall development of the clan.
The summit which was held at Nkwegu Primary School, Amegu Community, the ancestral home of the clan in Abakaliki Local Government Area drew the presence of the illustrious sons and daughters of Izzi land.
The Prayer organized by Izzi Greater for Christ had its theme as the moment of total liberation and dedication of Uzzi's land to God which featured salvation, healing, deliverance, and breakthrough among others.
Preaching on the topic, "sin no more" Reverend Isongiyo Eshiet, the Guest Speaker lamented the increase of sin among people in society, saying that a sinful man and woman is lacking a lot of things in the sight of God.
The Guest speaker admonished the people of the clan to shun engaging in the earthly things with the emphasis on adultery, idolatry, disunity, excess consumption of alcohol and other sinful activities that could dirty their image both physically and spiritually to attract the blessings of God and at the same time inherit the kingdom of God.
He further observed that sinful men and women have nothing to gain from God and charged the people to return to God fully in their interest as it would not profit them anything to gain the whole world and enter into the hire.
Speaking, the Chairman Central Planning Committee, Rev. Simon Abah noted that the main reason for organizing the prayer was to dedicate the land to God to achieve his favour and development in the clan.
He urged the entire Izzi people to avail themselves of the opportunity to achieve the set goals and thanked God for making the prayer come to fruition while calling on the people to hand themselves into the hands of God and obey all his commandments.
He also prayed to God to give oof ne their sons the opportunity to emerge as the Governor of Ebonyi State in the upcoming Governorship election in the State.
Also speaking, the commissioner for Land Hon. Emmanuel Uguru described the prayer as a welcome development, expressed happiness that such gathering which has never been held in the clan like other clans in the State has come to be and asked for its continuity as it is through God that their yearnings and aspirations would be achieved.
He called on the people especially the political officeholders to make love, peace and unity their top priorities in handling their affairs.
On their part, the traditional ruler of Amegu Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Fidelis Nwonumara and former Deputy Governor candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Architect Mbam Ogodo urged the people of the clan to come out and pray together for unity and peace among themselves.
However, the duo challenged members of the clan to shun employing issues of kindred dichotomy in political activities for the overall interest of the people, adding that the kindred issue was introduced by their forefathers as a modality used in their sharing formula but was hijacked by selfish politicians to create division in the clan.
They hinted that the clan would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the issue is eradicated and prayed to God to help them in championing the course.
The Minister in charge of Nigeria Reformed Church, Abakaliki and Secretary planning Committee of the submit, Rev. Joseph Nwibo congratulated the participants for their large turnout stating that the land has been restored by God through the intercession of the men of God and the entire citizens.
