The inauguration was held on Thursday in the Association's Secretariat at Ugwuchara behind Assemblies of God Church witnessed a large turnout of people from different walks of life who came to honour the occasion.
There was an inaugural lecture on Professional Ethics and the use of standing Orders in the clinical practice of Community Health Workers delivered by Maize Nwakpa Cletus who x-rayed the importance of upholding the ethics of the profession at all times while discharging their duties in the health facilities the clients/patients using their standing orders.
The Chairman of the occasion, Mr Nwite Samuel Sunday, the Chief Executive Officer, and CEO of the Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Program in the State Ministry of Health Abakaliki.
He charged the newly elected leaders on taking the oath of office to represent the people very well in discharging their duties effectively and efficiently at all times.
The State Chairperson of the Association, Mrs Chitachi Chibueze Agbo, while reacting to the event expressed profound gratitude to God for the success of the program and thanked everyone present.
Mrs . Chitachi further encouraged the newly elected executives of the Association to be up and forth with their responsibilities in ensuring they uphold the code of conduct of the profession, adding that the service rained selflessness for humanity.
She also thanked the stakeholders for honouring the invitation and expressed her heartfelt appreciation for their support towards the progress of the association and community health professionals.
Associate Professor PC Umoke from the University of Nigeria, Nsuka, spoke on the numerous achievements of the profession and encouraged the people to continue to strive for greater heights and put in their utmost best while carrying out their clinical and community-based functions.
The inauguration ceremony was full of excitement and meetings of professional colleagues from different Local Government Areas and Units.
