The Immediate Past Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports in Ebonyi, Hon. Charlse AkpuEnika has said that Governor Francis Nwifuru will keep the flag of success being recorded in the state, flying.
Akpu Enika made the declaration in Abakaliki when his friends and well-wishers comprising of the Urban community including the landlord association, Awkuzu town union, and Ebonyi sporting community among others hosted him at a grand reception after a meritorious eight years of service to the state.
The 'Game Changer' as he is fondly called solicited immense support for Nwifuru to continue from where his predecessor, Chief David Umahi, stopped.
"Nwifuru has started very well with policies and programmes which would further enhance the well-being of the masses who overwhelmingly voted him into power.
"He is a young man who is full of energy and has been a foundational member of the Divine mandate institution in the state as the speaker of the state House of Assembly,".
"We will continue supporting and praying for him to succeed in office and make Ebonyians happy and proud,".
The Anambra-born political Colossus said that he will remain indebted to Umahi for his mentorship and opportunity to serve the state and become a better administrator.
"Umahi will remain my boss and father as he believed in me and allowed me to excel in the office which all of you are celebrating today.
"He changed the narratives of Ebonyi state, making it the best among others and posterity will remember him for his legacies,"
He thanked the people for the reception, noting that he was overwhelmed by the large turnout of friends and well-wishers and the large impeccability of the event's organisers.
"This is the first time to my knowledge that a commissioner from the urban community is being honoured this way and I feel gratified and humble.
"You all have said that I have done well and I believe such was achieved with the support you gave me while in office,".
Bishop Anayo Iloh, President of the Urban Town Union in Abakaliki, congratulated Akpu Enika on a successful stay in office, noting that he deserves all the accolades and honour he received.
"You are a child of destiny who touched the lives of many people while in office and united the urban community to become a strong entity.
Hon. Richard Idike, a Former Member of the state House of Assembly and Aide to Umahi described Akpu Enika as an honest and trustworthy personality who is loved by his people.
"It is very difficult to see someone who just finished holding a political office, being honoured by his people and when you see such, you appreciate it,".
Emeka Ikegwu, Special Assistant to Akpu Enika praised his boss for being a mentor and a shining light to him and youths of the state, especially those from the urban community.
"He is undoubted, the leader of the urban community who has inspired us by leading and showing us the way".
