The Wife of the State Governor, Mrs Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru has assured the current administration of her husband would prioritize health care delivery services in the State.
Mrs Nwifuru stated this when she received the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Mid-Wives, Ebonyi State who were in her office on a courtesy visit.
The Ebonyi First Lady's Chief Press Secretary, Nnenna Oshibe made this known in a press release yesterday.
She emphasized the need for a functional health system.
According to her, the new administration in the State has demonstrated its readiness to address the problems facing the health sector by commencing the recruitment of many medical personnel, a few weeks after its inauguration.
The governor's wife said her office through her pet project would be willing to work with any organization that has the potential of giving a facelift to the health system of the State.
Mrs Nwifuru commended the Nurses and Mid-Wives for their commitment to the duty of saving lives as well as for their decision to identify with her office.
The State Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Mid-Wives, Mr Bornblessed Obasi said they were in the office of the Governor's wife to express their support for the new Government and to seek ways of collaborating with her office.
He said the Association would be willing to collaborate with her office in providing manpower for health facilities in the State, School Health Programs and routine rural health outreaches among others.
The Association presented a flex banner to the Governor's wife during the visit.
