The Special Assistant to Ishielu local Government Chairman on Youth Mobilization, Stephen Chinonso Egbe has extolled his principal, Mrs. Ifeoma Peace Agwu, for distributing agricultural inputs to farmers across the 16 wards of the council.
Egbe described the initiative as a strategic and people-centered effort to boost food production and support the economic stability of rural farmers in the area.
The distribution exercise, which took place at the council headquarters, Ezillo over the weekend, attracted farmers from various communities, including persons with disabilities, who all benefitted from the agricultural support.
According to Egbe, the farmers expressed joy and appreciation, noting that the inputs came at a critical time to improve yields and cushion the effects of rising farming costs.
“This is a commendable move that directly impacts the lives of our people,” Egbe said.
“The chairman has once again demonstrated her commitment to inclusive development and agricultural growth," he further stated.
He also extended gratitude to the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for facilitating the delivery of the support to Ishielu LGA, describing the governor as a strong pillar of rural empowerment.
Egbe emphasized that with this intervention, farmers are now more optimistic about achieving a productive farming season, which will contribute to food security and economic development across Ishielu council area and beyond.
