The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ebonyi State has declared its readiness to uproot the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from power in the 2027 general elections, unveiling a robust coalition of political allies, grassroots leaders, and civil society forces in what party leaders described as a “final rescue mission” for Nigeria.
This bold declaration came during the weekend as the ADC State Chapter hosted a high-powered strategic meeting with leaders of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), political support groups, and the thirteen Local Government Chairmen and Secretaries of the party.
The event, held at the ADC State Secretariat, 62 Old Enugu Express Road, Abakaliki, drew political heavyweights and activist groups united under one mission dismantling the APC grip on Ebonyi and beyond.
The ADC State Chairman, Dr. Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor, in her welcome remarks, made no pretence about the party’s goal.
"The ADC is the vehicle through which Nigeria will be rescued come 2027. We are building a united, unstoppable force, and no one — I repeat, no one will derail this mission,” she declared to loud applause.
Adibe-Nwafor stressed that unity and loyalty to the collective interest of the party are non-negotiable. “We welcome every progressive idea, but any agenda contrary to our mission will be resisted,” she warned, charging attendees to close ranks and focus on grassroots expansion.
Reports from local government chairmen indicated significant progress in extending ADC structures to the polling unit level. Challenges were openly discussed and strategic solutions adopted, with the party distributing membership cards and registers to intensify voter sensitisation and recruitment campaigns across the state.
Notable figures at the meeting included Comrade Okey Idenyi of the Obedient Movement/COPDEM, Nigerian Youths for Atiku, NYFA represented by Hon Frank Ugwu, Comrade Onyibe Chinedu of the Young Nigerian Voice, Hon. Nwakpuke Azubuike of The Great Ezza Pillars, Comrade Henry Ikechukwu Mkpuma of the ADC Grassroot Network, and even prominent PDP chieftain Hon. Deacon Okpo, signalling a widening political alliance.
In a press release, Prince Igube Ejiofor , the Head of Media and Publicity for the ADC Ebonyi State Chapter, said the outcome was a clear signal to the APC that “a new political order is emerging in Ebonyi State, and come 2027, the ADC will lead that transformation.”
He emphasised that the unity of purpose demonstrated during the meeting is the kind of momentum needed to secure electoral victory.
"The ADC State Chairman, Dr Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor made it clear that while support groups are indispensable, the official party structure will drive the 2027 campaign machinery.
“Every local government, every ward, every polling unit must feel our presence. We are not just preparing for an election; we are preparing for a takeover,” he affirmed.
He said the meeting ended with renewed enthusiasm, strategic commitments, and a unified battle cry that "APC must go in 2027."
