The Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (Credicorp) has rolled out a groundbreaking scheme to provide serving members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with access to affordable loans of up to ₦200,000 at single-digit interest rates.
Unveiled in Abuja on Wednesday, the initiative tagged YouthCred commenced with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Credicorp and the NYSC.
Managing Director/CEO of Credicorp, Uzoma Nwagba, disclosed that N9 billion has been earmarked for the first phase, which will benefit corps members across the country.
Nwagba explained that the programme is designed not just to ease credit access but also to promote responsible borrowing and sound financial management among young Nigerians.
He assured that the loans will be disbursed seamlessly to eligible corps members, marking a strategic step towards youth empowerment and financial inclusion nationwide.
