Princess Chetachi Chibueze Jerry Usulor, Provost of Ebonyi State College of Health Technologies, has been celebrated with a prestigious Award of Excellence during the 30th anniversary of Royal Integrated Schools.
The ceremony, which also marked the commissioning of the school’s permanent campus, took place on Friday at the newly completed site, Ngbo in Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi State.
Speaking after receiving the award, Provost Usulor expressed her delight and gratitude. “I’m excited. Royal Comprehensive College is ours. Royal is a strong and brave group,” she said.
She noted that this was the second time the institution had honored her, adding that the recognition is a reflection of mutual respect and admiration between her and the school community.
“It’s a pleasure and a joy. I learned from the school’s founder the importance of helping the less privileged. During our time, many students could not afford school fees, yet Royal made education accessible. This recognition inspires me to continue supporting education and humanitarian initiatives,” she added.
Royal Integrated Schools, one of Ebonyi State’s oldest private academic institutions, also celebrated its 30-year journey of educational service, resilience, and community impact.
Former Governor Chief Martins Nwancho Elechi, who commissioned the permanent site, lauded the proprietor, Prince Ndubuisi Onwe Chibueze-Agbo, for his dedication.
“Prince Agbo went through hell and fire to ensure this school stands. I urge him to continue standing firm. To the students, don’t joke with your academics. Be disciplined,” Elechi advised.
Prince Agbo recounted the school’s remarkable journey, which included operating from four temporary sites and enduring losses exceeding ₦1 billion due to political disruptions that prevented some students from sitting key examinations.
“Royal has weathered many storms to reach this milestone. Despite the challenges, our resilience has sustained us,” he said.
The new campus features tiled classrooms, modern laboratories, a multipurpose hall, solar and borehole systems, and an upgraded principal’s office. Prince Agbo confirmed the full resumption of the boarding system in January 2026, with further expansion planned for September 2026.
Royal Integrated Schools has made significant contributions to the community, creating over 2,000 jobs and awarding more than 4,000 scholarships.
The institution has also expanded into tertiary education with the Royal College of Nursing Science, the first private nursing college in Ebonyi State.
Prof. Sunday Onwe, Chairman of the occasion, commended Agbo for producing graduates who are not only self-reliant but also create employment for others, describing him as “a tree standing tall among others.”
The anniversary event also honored other notable figures, including Chief Martins Elechi, Senator Christopher Nwankwo, Senator Ngiji Ngele, Senator Anthony Oduma-Agbo, and Princess Usulor herself.
With the commissioning of its permanent site and a legacy of three decades, Royal Integrated Schools is poised to continue shaping generations of students and contributing meaningfully to education in Ebonyi State.
