At the inauguration ceremony held in Abakaliki, Engr. Mbam presented the committee with tablet devices, laptops and other auxiliary logistics to ensure efficiency and comprehensive coverage of the e-registration process across the council area.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner described the initiative as a strategic intervention aimed at complementing the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and strengthening the leadership and structure of the APC in Ebonyi State and at the national level.
According to him, the deployment of digital tools would enhance grassroots mobilisation, improve data accuracy and guarantee broader participation in the party’s membership drive.
“This intervention is part of our commitment to supporting the administration of His Excellency, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress across the country.
“The e-registration exercise is central to strengthening our party’s structure, and we must ensure that no eligible member is excluded," Mbam said.
He noted that a considerable number of residents in Abakaliki were yet to register as members of the APC, a development he said necessitated the establishment of the committee and the provision of the required logistics to fast-track the process.
“It has been observed that many Ebonyi people, particularly those in Abakaliki, have not registered. This informed our decision to facilitate and accelerate the exercise so that everyone willing to be part of the APC can do so seamlessly,” he added.
Reaffirming the party’s dominance in the area, Engr. Mbam declared that “Abakaliki is APC, and APC is Abakaliki,” expressing confidence in the party’s preparedness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The 2027 elections are already a done deal for the APC. What we are doing today is consolidating our base and strengthening democratic participation,” he stated.
The Commissioner further urged all eligible voters to register with the APC, noting that increased participation would foster good governance and deepen democratic values in Ebonyi State.
He charged members of the e-registration committee to discharge their duties with diligence, transparency and integrity, stressing the need to ensure that every eligible person within Abakaliki Local Government Area and its environs is captured in the ongoing exercise.
Mbam also emphasised the importance of eligible voters obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as part of preparations for future elections, describing it as essential to promoting democratic ideals and good governance in the state and beyond.
Our correspondent reports that the inauguration represents another significant step in the APC’s drive to expand its membership base and consolidate its grassroots presence across Ebonyi State through technology-driven political engagement.
