The Chairman of Zelus Group of Companies and Chief Executive Officer of Zelunjo Empowerment Foundation, Chief Barrister Tochukwu Ogalegu (T-Man), has extended warm felicitations to the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, on the occasion of his 51st birthday, lauded what he described as “a distinctly reform-oriented and transformational administration redefining the governance architecture of Ebonyi State.”
In a goodwill message issued on Monday, Ogalegu characterised Governor Nwifuru’s leadership trajectory as “a model of institutional discipline, policy coherence, and strategic execution,” noting that the administration has recalibrated public sector performance while accelerating infrastructure-led growth across the state.
He observed that Nwifuru’s progression from Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly to the fourth civilian governor underscores “a seamless continuum of legislative depth and executive foresight,” anchored on governance stability, fiscal prudence, and programmatic consistency.
Ogalegu particularly spotlighted the administration’s expansive infrastructure drive, describing it as a deliberate economic stimulus framework rather than mere physical construction.
He referenced the iconic Vanco Flyover and tunnel in Abakaliki, alongside an extensive network of rural roads and bridges, as strategic mobility assets structured to unlock commercial corridors, enhance inter-community connectivity, and deepen subnational competitiveness.
“These projects are not ornamental. They constitute critical capital investments designed to optimise logistics efficiency, bridge rural-urban disparities, and position Ebonyi as an emerging investment destination within Nigeria’s evolving economic landscape," he said.
Beyond infrastructure, the Zelus Group chairman underscored what he termed the governor’s “bold pivot to knowledge-driven development.”
He cited the state-sponsored postgraduate scholarships awarded to over one thousand Ebonyi indigenes in both domestic and international institutions as a forward-looking human capital intervention aimed at reversing brain drain and building intellectual capital.
Ogalegu further commended the establishment of specialised tertiary institutions, including the ICT University at Oferekpe Agbaja and the Aeronautic University at Onueke, describing them as strategic sectoral anchors positioned to integrate Ebonyi into the global technology and aviation value chains.
“Education under this administration has transcended rhetoric,” he remarked. “It is being deployed as a structural lever for sustainable economic transformation and generational competitiveness," he said.
The statement also highlighted reforms across healthcare delivery systems, agricultural value chain expansion, civil service housing schemes, strengthened community-based security frameworks, and the general welfare of citizens, especially the downtrodden.
Ogalegu noted that the administration’s inclusive governance model and sustained peace-building engagements have enhanced social cohesion and bolstered investor confidence, reinforcing what he described as “a predictable, secure, and reform-responsive policy environment.”
He further observed that the provision of befitting residences for traditional rulers reflects institutional respect for cultural heritage while deepening grassroots governance integration.
Describing Ebonyi as “the Salt of the Nation rising in stature,” Ogalegu said Governor Nwifuru’s 51st birthday represents not merely a personal milestone but a symbolic marker of a governance era defined by strategic planning, infrastructural renaissance, and socio-economic repositioning.
“As Your Excellency marks this new chapter, it is our prayer that Almighty God grants you renewed vitality, wisdom, and expanded capacity to consolidate the gains of reform and steer Ebonyi State toward enduring prosperity,” he stated.
He reaffirmed the commitment of Zelus Group of Companies and Zelunjo Empowerment Foundation to continue supporting policy initiatives and strategic partnerships that advance sustainable development and inclusive growth in Ebonyi State.
